Extenuating Circumstance information for staff

During a student's period of study any number of circumstances may affect their ability to perform well in assessments (this includes essays, class tests and final examinations).

Depending upon the nature and severity of these circumstances the School may wish to take them into account at the Board of Examiners meeting. The process of informing the School of circumstances that have affected a student's performance throughout the year is called "extenuating circumstances"

Extenuating circumstances must be presented to the School Extenuating Circumstances Officer before the meetings of the relevant Boards of Examiners, it is the responsibility of the School to set and advertise the deadline for submissions. Contact your School Extenuating Circumstances Officer for further details.
