Research-informed teaching and providing students real research experience plays a central role in research-intensive universities. In this session, Dr Hong Duong will share his own experience in encouraging undergraduate students to engage with research in Mathematics. He will discuss topics such as

  • grant funding
  • how to design research topics that are both interesting and suitable for undergraduate (primarily year 2) students
  • how to engage undergraduates to do real research during the short summer periods

There will be time to discuss your own ambitions in introducing research practice to your undergraduates.

The target audience of this session is primarily new lecturers who are building up their research group and teaching portfolio, but anyone with an interest is welcome.
