The University supports an annual programme of events across campus and online that recognise, celebrate and give voice to the experiences of our diverse community.
The ED&I team co-ordinates 5 major University-wide ED&I programmes each year, working with our staff networks and student associations. Staff and students are invited to put on local events and activities as part of the University programme. Events are free and open to all staff and students and members of the community (unless otherwise stated).

Organising local events
If you are planning an activity within your School or Budget Centre for one of the annual events listed above please get in touch with the ED&I Team via equality@contacts.bham.ac.uk. We can then include your event in the University's listings and promotions.
Please make sure you consult all relevant University guidance about organising events, including the University's guide to freedom of speech. The Guild of Students also offers advice and support on organising events for student societies.
The Inclusion Calendar
In addition to the programme co-ordinated by the ED&I team, there are many religious, cultural and awareness-raising events throughout the year that you may want to celebrate within your team, department or network. The Inclusion Calendar is a great resource for this.
The Outlook Inclusion Calendar™ also works with all versions of Outlook. The link downloads the calendar alongside your normal Outlook calendar. For a combined view (with your dates and the diversity dates all in the one frame), simply click on 'view' tab at the very top of your Outlook screen and select ‘overlay’.
