University Graduate School Semester One events

PGTs can now find the full programme of PGT Essentials workshops and PGT Cafe socials in our PGT Eventbrite collection

Join us online for critical thinking, employability and academic writing workshops, and on campus for socials welcoming PGTs returning to education after a break, and commuting to and from campus.

For PGRs, our Eventbrite collection is filling up, with more events still to be announced. Join us for the launch of The PGR Brunch Club and PGR Film Club in October and look out for more PhD Chats in semester one. Keep an eye on our Twitter (UoBGradSchool) for announcements of writing support and workshops for academic writing month in November #AcriWriMo.

What's on in Brum

Use the Guild's free shuttle bus for a safe and convenient journey home from campus! You can catch the bus at the back of the main library between 6pm-12am every hour.

New campus safety app

SafeZone is available to download now, a handy app where you can check in to a location, discreetly and quickly call for security assistance, or report anything that doesn’t look right. 

SMART Recovery Group

SMART stands for Self Management and Recovery Training and is a group programme for anyone who is struggling with addiction (anything that feels like it’s getting in the way of living your life). Reach out and come along to a session.
