Join us on campus to cheer on the Queen's Baton Relay

Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton Relay
Join us for Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton Relay

The Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay has been on a journey across the Commonwealth, and we’re excited to confirm that the Baton will be coming to campus as it makes it way to Alexander Stadium in time for the Opening Ceremony.

The Baton will be carried around the Green Heart on Wednesday 27 July between 8am-9am by five Batonbearers selected from a nationwide competition.

We’d love for you to join us in cheering them on and show the University’s support for the Games. All staff, students, researchers, alumni, and our local community are very welcome to be part of this special moment.

Visit our Commonwealth Games intranet page for details on travelling to campus during the Games.
