When will my tuition fee be paid by Student Finance?
Please note this FAQ only refers to students who have applied for a loan via Student Finance England (SFE), Student Finance Wales (SFW), Student Finance Northern Ireland (SFNI) & Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS).
If you have applied for a postgraduate loan you need to make payment yourself from the loan you have received. Accounts Receivable advise setting up an instalment plan.
If you have applied for an undergraduate loan your payments will be paid directly to the University once your attendance has been confirmed. Attendance is confirmed at 3 points of the year; this is normally:
- End of September (Autumn term)
- January (Spring term)
- April (Summer term)
Attendance is confirmed if the following match between your loan application and your University record:
- Student has completed online registration
- Programme title matches
- Programme year matches
- Programme fee matches loan amount
- Name and date of birth matches
If your name and date of birth do not match, please update the incorrect data as soon as possible as this will delay your attendance being confirmed. If your details are wrong, please follow the process to correct your details, or contact Student Finance directly if the issue is on their side.
