Introduction to developing effective assessment questions

In this in person session, attendees will be introduced to the world of assessment question design. Through interactive discussions and collaborative exercises, participants will share current practices for creating assessment questions. You will collaboratively construct a valuable checklist that identifies the hallmarks of an effective assessment question. We will explore the array of assessment question types and share their applications. We will discuss the level of vulnerability that assessment questions have to AI misuse and develop ways to mitigate risks. Attendees will then refine their own assessment questions, increasing their effectiveness and aligning them with best practices.
