In this one-hour session we will be discussing effective approaches that can be integrated into your teaching practice to cultivate assessment literacy among your students. In the era of generative AI, the significance of assessment literacy has grown, becoming a crucial factor in upholding academic integrity.

Assessment literacy is important to assist students in understanding the purpose and methodology behind assessments in your modules. This understanding is pivotal in boosting students self-assurance to gain control over their individual learning journeys and enhance their academic performance. In line with the continuous technological advancements in higher education, it is also important to take into consideration the impact of generative AI on assessments and to ensure your students have an understanding. Throughout this session, there will be opportunities for you to engage in discussions with peers from across the institution. Additionally, you will gain practical resources to incorporate into your own courses.

**Please note that this session is for anyone who teaches at the University of Birmingham, but is not open to externals.

Should you have any questions or queries in advance, please contact Amy Lord or Benjamin Edwards-Power.
