New study spaces: Teaching and Learning building now open!

The new Teaching and Learning Building (TLB) opened on Monday 13 January.

As well as teaching space, the TLB contains almost 500 open study spaces for all students. These include a variety of spaces from formal desk space, with USB and wireless charging, to more relaxed reading areas. All levels are fully accessible, including all levels of the large lecture theatres.

Seminar rooms, when not in use, can also be used as study space. (Booking information for seminar rooms can be seen on the screens outside each room.)

The space also includes:

  • Hot and cold taps (for drinks)
  • Gender neutral toilets
  • Space for baby changing and feeding
  • Accessible and height adjustable study desks
  • Café

The building is open 08:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday. Note that after 18:00 access is only via the entrance closest to Main Library, and is swipe access only (final entrance at 21:45pm).

Seminar rooms can also be used in the evenings by Guild societies; this is booked via the Guild timetabling team.
