December Degree Congregations under way

The halls are decked as the much-anticipated December Degree Congregations get under way, with students walking the stage in the Great Hall throughout the week.

Graduation is the highlight of the academic year and members of staff are helping students to mark this significant milestone from today (Monday 4 December) until Friday 8 December.

Members of staff from departments and colleges across the University volunteered their time to deliver these exciting and important ceremonies and are taking on a broad range of roles – from Marshals and Ushers to Mace Bearers, Procession Managers and Floor Managers.

They will be helping hundreds of soon to be fellow Birmingham alumni mark this milestone.

Students from the Colleges of Life and Environmental Sciences and Medical and Dental Sciences took to the stage in the Great Hall today. Our students have been graduating from this iconic building since the early 1900s.
