Library AI Trials

The Library landscape is changing. The research databases that you use to find and access academic literature are increasingly offering generative AI functionality in new product developments. However, the range and depth of these new AI tools varies hugely. We want to ensure that when we subscribe to these features in future we are choosing the tools that are right for you.

There are three trials currently running that allow you to explore the potential and functionality of a variety of AI tools. Use the links below to try them out, see what you think, and report back to us using our feedback forms. Unsure about what each tool can do? We have also provided links to some brief overview videos to get you started.

These trials will run until the first week of July and are open to all University of Birmingham staff and students. Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated and will help to shape the future of AI provision at UoB, however, we are not committing to subscribing to these tools going forward.

Reminder

Please ensure when using these tools that you continue to adhere to the following university guidance:

Scite – trial ends 06 July 2025

Scopus AI – trial ends 08 July 2025
