BMJ Publishing: hybrid journals (funded authors only)

BMJ Publishing has an open access publishing agreement with the University of Birmingham. It allows funded University of Birmingham affiliated corresponding authors (subject to eligibility criteria listed below) to publish open access at no additional cost in BMJ hybrid journals.

Eligibility criteria

  • Only articles funded by the following funders are eligible to publish in the hybrid titles covered in this agreement:
    • UKRI
    • Wellcome Trust
    • British Heart Foundation
    • Blood Cancer UK
    • Cancer Research UK
    • Parkinson's UK
    • Versus Arthritis 
  • The agreement is only available for the following article types: original research articles only (original articles reporting on primary research).
  • The corresponding author must be affiliated to the University of Birmingham, and ensure their @bham.ac.uk email address is used on submission to the journal.
  • Any additional page, colour or other charges will not be covered through this agreement or the open access budget.
