Co-op is coming to campus

With the cost of living on the rise, the Food, Beverage and Retail team are introducing more affordable options across campus.

The biggest change? A new Coop convenience store will be opening at University Centre this summer, bringing great-value member deals, a wider product range, self-service checkouts and in-store bakery (yes, fresh pastries…).

But that’s not all. A new budget-friendly café will also be opening at Alan Walters.

SPAR in University Centre will close on Friday 27 March but in the meantime, a pop-up food store offering sandwiches, snacks and drinks will open in the UoB Gift Shop, Monday to Friday. Amazon lockers will be relocated outside the supermarket into the main Food Court for easier access.

Alan Walters Café will close ahead of Easter and reopen at the end of April as Seattle’s Best Coffee at Alan Walters Café, serving coffee, pastries and sausage rolls at great prices.

You’ll also spot new vending machines at Sport & Fitness and inside The Vale, making it even easier to grab food and drink on the go.
