Looking for a fun free evening? Try the light show at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Looking for something a bit different to do in the evening? Birmingham Botanical Gardens (Westbourne Road, Edgbaston, B15 3TR) is hosting a free light show and interactive climate event that is well worth adding to your plans.

From Thursday 12 February to Sunday 15 February, 18:00 –21:30, Climate Conversations will invite visitors to explore climate change through creativity, conversation and immersive experiences.

The University’s Birmingham Institute of Forest Research (BiFoR) and Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action (BISCA) will be running hands-on activities and short, accessible talks, showing how small, everyday actions can have a real impact on the planet.

The event is part of the Birmingham Light Festival, meaning visitors will also get to experience Tipping Point – a powerful free light and sound installation. Using smoke, colour and sound, the installation brings the reality of deforestation to life in a striking and thought-provoking way.

Whether you are interested in climate action, love light installations, or just want a free evening out with friends, Climate Conversations is an unmissable event so make sure to book your free ticket!
