National Student Money Week is here!

National Student Money Week (NSMW) is back from 2–6 March, and it’s all about helping you feel more confident managing your money while you’re at uni. Finances can feel stressful, especially with the ongoing cost of living pressures, but you’re not expected to figure everything out on your own.

At UoB, it’s a chance to highlight the support that’s already here for you.

Whether you’re trying to make your budget stretch a bit further, or understand what funding you might be entitled to, this week is a good time to learn more about it.

Key highlights:

On Wednesday 4 March,UoB’s Funding Team will be out on campus to chat to students and share practical tips. You can find them at the Guild of Students Community Breakfast until 11:00, where they’ll be running fun activities to test your budgeting skills and help you pick up useful financial tips.

The team will also be at Careers Corner on the ground floor of the Main Library (behind the IT desks) on Thursday 5 March from 12:00–15:00. It’s another chance to try some games and  a great opportunity to ask general questions about student funding or anything money-related in a relaxed, informal setting.

If you can’t make it in person, you can still get involved.

Follow the UoB Funding Team on Instagram for regular updates, reminders about deadlines and straightforward advice on managing your money. The team also shares information about applying for funding and where to go if you need extra financial support.

You can also check out our Cost of Living support pages, which bring together everything from funding information to budgeting advice, as well as blogs and videos focused on student life and managing everyday expenses.

National Student Money Week is all about taking small steps to feel more in control of your finances. Even picking up one new tip or asking one question could make a real difference.
