New monthly wellbeing drop-in service launches on campus

Wellbeing Lodge high res
The Wellbeing Lodge at North Gate - a dedicated mental health and wellbeing support space on campus

As part of our Time to Talk? campaign, encouraging UoB students to reach out and talk about their mental health and wellbeing, all students can now access free, confidential support on campus at monthly drop-in sessions delivered by local charity Aquarius.

Aquarius supports young people affected by alcohol, drugs, gambling and related challenges. They also offer help for anyone impacted by a loved one's substance use. The drop-in sessions aim to provide a welcoming space for you to talk, seek advice and access support, recognising that starting a conversation can often be the first step towards feeling better and getting practical help.

No appointment is needed for the sessions which will take place at the recently refurbished Wellbeing Lodge at North Gate (opposite the Community Safety Hub) on the final Monday of the month between 1pm and 4pm. The next three sessions will be on:

  • Monday 26 October 2026 (1pm-4pm)
  • Monday 30 November 2026 (1pm-4pm)
  • Monday 25 January 2027 (1pm-4pm)

Better than Well, our peer supported student addiction recovery programme, will also be onsite during the drop-in sessions.

Whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to face things on your own. You can find details of future drop-in session dates as well as all our support services on the Time to Talk? page on the student intranet.
