Here at UoB, we value your feedback. Whether that’s through surveys or initiatives like The Student Corner, listening and making improvements based on your suggestions is important to us.

In this edition of our ‘You Said, We Did’ series, we're excited to share the positive changes we've implemented for our Postgraduate taught (PGT) community thanks to previous student input.

We have…

  • Integrated PGT students into the University Graduate School (UGS).
  • Launched regular ‘UGS Talks’ to provide opportunities for PGT and PGR students to meet and engage with each other.
  • Revised our tutorial approach to ensure students have opportunities to discuss their progress with staff at their feedback tutorial.
  • Introduced a wider range of assessments to help with your skill development.
  • Expanded PGT Essentials, a support and training programme aimed specifically at PGT needs and which includes summer dissertation support.
  • Expanded the Graduate School Scholar scheme to provide opportunities for PGT representation and feedback throughout the year.
  • Created a Graduate School PGT Hub on Canvas which brings together all University level training and support provision available to PGT students.
  • Introduced a PGT strand to this year’s Postgraduate Research Festival.
  • Created the PG-led Activity Fund enabling PG students to gain transferable skills and experience in planning and organising their own events.

Have your say

Those are just some of the changes we’ve implemented to improve your time here as a Postgraduate taught student at Birmingham.

Do you have feedback on your experience at UoB? Then look out for ways to have your say this March including through the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) - a national survey run by Advance HE. Your opinions matter to us and as a thank you for your time and feedback, we're offering students a chance to win a cash prize. Keep an eye on your emails for an invite to complete the PTES.
