Funding Options

No matter how your Tuition fee is to be paid once you have registered you will receive an invoice addressed to you, this will confirm your Tuition fees and the date by which they are due. Please be advised invoices will start to be issued to students September of the new Academic Session.

The invoice will not show any funding/fee waiver/scholarship or payments already made, and no updated documents will ever be sent showing this.

It is your responsibility to ensure payment of the Tuition fee invoice is made, non-payment may result in an exclusion hold being applied to your record in accordance with University Financial Regulation 5.3.1.

 If your Tuition fees are funded 

Student Finance Undergraduate/PGCE

You must re-apply for your funding before the start of each academic session.

Enter the student support number in personal details in online registration and Student Finance will pay your Tuition Fee direct.

If you are unable to provide this information via online registration, email your University ID number along with your student support number or financial sponsor details to sdm@contacts.bham.ac.uk

 You will not receive an updated invoice after your funding has been applied.

If your funding is not for the full amount of your invoice please arrange payment of the balance online at https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/finance/transaction-services/payment-options/index.aspx

Student Finance Post Graduate

You must re-apply for your funding before the start of each academic session.

Enter your student support number in personal details in online Registration and Student Finance will pay your loan to you.

If you are unable to provide this information via online registration, email your University ID number along with your student support number or financial sponsor details to sdm@contacts.bham.ac.uk

You will need to apply for an instalment plan to split your invoice to match your incoming payments, otherwise you will be chased for payment.

If you hold a UK bank account, you can set up a Direct debit online at https://epay.bham.ac.uk/edd

If you do not hold a UK bank account, you can request to pay termly by raising a Service Now enquiry https://universityofbirmingham.service-now.com/finance

You will not receive an updated invoice after your funding has been applied.

NHS Bursary

Enter the sponsor details (postal address, email, amount & your NHS number) in financial sponsor in online registration.

If you are unable to provide this information via online registration, email your University ID number along with your student support number or financial sponsor details to sdm@contacts.bham.ac.uk

You will not receive an updated invoice after your funding has been applied.

Sponsor 

If you are sponsored by an organisation, please provide the following information upon registration: 

  • Full Name of the organisation
  • Invoicing address
  • Email address
  • Contact name
  • Amount being sponsored
  • Purchase order/sponsor reference number 

Please forward your financial guarantees to sdm@contacts.bham.ac.uk

If you have any sponsor amendments after registration please email sdm@contacts.bham.ac.uk with the relevant information.

If you declare any Financial Sponsor you will STILL receive an initial invoice for your full tuition fee value addressed to you. Once the University has processed your Sponsor details you will receive a credit note and we will invoice your Sponsor direct.

If your fees are being paid by a parent or relative or another individual, they are not classed as a sponsor and you are not required to provide their details, you will still be classed as self-funded.

If your fees are being paid by the University, your school, or your department, this is regarded as a scholarship, please review the Scholarship tab for further information.

Fee Waiver/Scholarship from University of Birmingham

The issuer of the scholarship will inform Accounts Receivable to adjust your invoice accordingly. Accounts Receivable can only amend invoices with Fee Waivers/Scholarship on the instruction of the issuer.

If you are on a charge by module programme, then full payment of each module is required upon registration of module. Payment can be made via card online at https://epay.bham.ac.uk/open selecting Tuition Fee.

If you are being charged a Continuation Fee, then full payment is required. Payment can be made via card online at https://epay.bham.ac.uk/open selecting Tuition Fee.

 

Instalments

If you wish to pay in instalments and hold a UK bank account please apply for a direct debit online at https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/finance/transaction-services/payment-options/index.aspx

If you wish to pay in instalments and do not hold a UK bank account please contact the Accounts Receivable team at https://universityofbirmingham.service-now.com/finance requesting to pay termly via another method.

 

Dubai Campus

When you have registered you will receive an invoice addressed to you, this will confirm your Tuition fees and the date by which they are due. Please be advised invoices will start to be issued to students September of the new Academic Session.

Payment of this invoice can be made using one of the methods below:

Direct Bank Transfer

You can pay your fees from your bank, directly into the University's bank account by electronic transfer (Bank Details)

Card Payment

Please email Dubai Student Fees dubaistudentfees@contacts.bham.ac.uk, who will be able to provide a Noqodi link.

Instalments

If you wish to request instalments, please contact the Accounts Receivable team at https://universityofbirmingham.service-now.com/finance requesting to pay termly. They will reply with the instalment amounts which you can then pay via bank transfer or card.

 

 I have been charged the incorrect amount

Any scholarships/Fee waivers/payments will not be shown on your invoice.
