Student payment queries

Here are the answers to some of our most common student payment queries:

Students at our Dubai campus

My invoice value is incorrect

If the tuition charge is not the total you expected, please email tsa@contacts.bham.ac.uk

I have made full payment in advance of the invoice

If you paid your fees in full before you received an invoice, you don't need to do anything else.

My scholarship hasn’t been deducted from my invoice

The invoice has been sent to you as confirmation of you registering with us for the year and shows the total amount of the course fee.

It does not take into account any bursaries, awards or scholarships as these will be dealt with separately on your account.

Pay your invoice online here.

If you have not been awarded the correct scholarship amount please contact scholarships.dubai@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Can I get an invoice showing my deductions?

No, the invoice always shows the total amount of the course fee.

It does not take into account any payments already made, bursaries, awards or scholarships as these will be dealt with separately on your account.

Can I pay by instalments?

Yes, you can pay by instalments.

Apply to pay by instalments here (Dubai students only).

Will I get a receipt for payment?

A receipt will be automatically issued within 10 days of the University receiving payment. If you have not got a receipt after 10 days, please raise an enquiry online in the Finance Service Portal. You will need to log in using your University credentials.

  • Select Student Payment Queries
  • Select Contact Us
  • Fill in the form, selecting "Dubai Campus - Invoice/Payment query" from the drop-down box, and submit.

When will I receive my tuition fee invoice?

No matter how you are paying your tuition fee, once you have registered you will receive an invoice addressed to you. This will confirm your tuition fees and the date they are due to be paid by.  Invoices will start to be issued to students in September of the new Academic Session.

The invoice will not show any funding, fee waiver, scholarships or payments already made, and no updated documents will ever be sent showing this.

It is your responsibility to ensure payment of the tuition fee invoice is made. Non-payment may result in an exclusion hold being applied to your record, in accordance with University Financial Regulation 5.3.1.

  • Select Student Payment Queries

I am receiving a Postgraduate loan

  • You must re-apply for your funding before the start of each academic session.
  • In online registration, enter your student support number in the personal details section. Student Finance will pay your loan to you.
    • If you are unable to provide your student support number in online registration, email your University ID number along with your student support number or financial sponsor details to sdm@contacts.bham.ac.uk
  • You will need to apply for an instalment plan to split your invoice to match your incoming payments, otherwise you will be chased for payment.
  • You will not receive an updated invoice after your funding has been applied.
  • If your funding is not for the full amount of your invoice, please arrange payment of the balance online.

I'm not sure whether I'm sponsored

  • If your fees are being paid by a parent or relative or another individual, they are not classed as a sponsor. You are not required to provide their details, and you will still be classed as self-funded.
  • If your fees are being paid by the University, your School, or your department, this is regarded as a scholarship. Visit the Scholarships and Stipends page for more information.

I want to pay in full but have a credit or transfer limit
